I would like to take this opportunity, as the last eve of the beta testing approaches, to thank Six Apart for the chance to participate in the TypePad testing.
I would like to say to anyone reading this that TypePad is an excellent way to create, manage and thrive in blogging. The user interface is friendly, well designed and cleanly "intuitive," meaning I knew where everything was within a few uses.
The ability to "design" without coding is excellent for people who are interested in saying something in "a clean, well-lighted place." The tools are that rare combination of element-level control without having to learn all about how CSS works.
The integration of TypeLists and Photos is brilliant and deceptively simple (at least to the user and reader, and that's what matters in the end, isn't it?)
With all this said, in the interest of full disclosure, I will say that I will not participate in TypePad, only because I have invested time, effort and money in my server and MT installation, and after mushing around with it since 2.0, I want to maintain it and extend it with the kind of "hands dirty, under the hood" work I have done so far.
I cannot recommend this service highly enough. Of course, I say this without compensation save the beta testing opportunity, and wish Six Apart the greatest of successes.
Thanks, you MT guys. The house called the party and said "TypePad rocks!"
